Travel Insurance
Journey Confidently
Alaska Travel Desk highly encourages that all travelers purchase travel insurance. There are many plans and companies, however we’ve found Allianz to be the easiest and most effective when it comes to price, offerings, and more importantly, CLAIMS. Below we have 5 of the highest-selling plans; 3 are based on EACH trip, and the last offering is an annual plan.
Travel Insurance for Alaskans
We sell more annual travel plans than *any other* – its a great value since many of us travel to/from Seattle; weather may not always cooperate. We’ve had a payout success of 100% due to weather/ATC delays that require a hotel overnight in Seattle or flight diversions! In fact, almost every single Southeast Alaskan has received payouts that exceed their annual premiums!
Individual Trip Insurance needs to be added at the same time as your deposit is paid with most trips, otherwise it can greatly affect the cost and/or coverage. Annual travel plans can be purchased anytime, and are valid from the start date you provide to your travel advisor.
Why Choose Travel Insurance?
- Health insurance may not work overseas
- Accidents can & do happen!
- Airlines are skimping on baggage coverage
- Cancellation coverage due to severe illness
- Hotels when flights divert
- Hotels when flights cancel due to weather
- Medevac to nearest hospital
- Weather happens!
What Does Insurance Cover?
- Majority of your financial loss
- Cancellation of a flight
- bags or items go missing
- medical evacuation
- Death of a traveler
- Death of an immediate family member
- Inability to travel due to severe illness
- Some cover significant flight delays
