MSC Poesia has finally made it to Alaska!
At first we weren’t sure how Poesia would fare against other cruise ships coming up to Alaska, but we think the MSC Poesia will set her own marks, even though we’d rather sea Seascape up here!
One of the biggest changes to Poesia is the addition of Yacht Club and specialty dining to the ship. The Yacht Club has taken over space on Deck 13, 14, 15, and 16.
The Yacht Club on Poesia has 4 room categories:
YC3 – Yacht Club Royal Suite with whirlpool bath & deck – 505 square foot cabin, terrace is 840 square feet (these are located on the bow of the ship)
YC2 – 2 room Grand Suite (deck 11-15) – 301 square foot cabin, and a 75 sq foot balcony (they took 2 standard balcony cabins and combined them)
YC1 – Deluxe Suite Deck 15 – 258-323 square foot cabin and a balcony of 200+ square feet
Y1N – Interior Cabin, deck 14 – 150 square foot cabin
All of the cabins are part of the enclosed Yacht Club on Poesia.
We WERE impressed with the wine selection in the Yacht Club lounge, including Errazuriz Carmenere from Chile.
Butchers Cut is located in a “fishbowl” of sorts at the rear of the buffet. The space isn’t super huge, so make sure you get your reservations early for Butchers!
Aurea Cabin guests will enjoy the expanded Top 15 sun deck, located on the afte deck 15 with large ample areas to enjoy the Alaskan views (or sun, when we get it).
